Behold the Lamb of God

"Behold the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the World"

Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old; Genesis 12:5

He said, “Behold, the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?’  Abraham said, “God will provide Himself the Lamb for a burnt offering my son.” So they went both of them together. Genesis 22:7, 8

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. By oppression and judgment he was taken away; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living, stricken for the transgression of my people?  And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.  Yet it was the will of the Lord to bruise him; he has put him to grief; when he makes himself an offering for sinIsaiah 53:7-10

But I was like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter.  I did not know it was against me they devised schemes, saying, “Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more.” Jeremiah 11:19

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29

But you know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. 1 Peter 1:19

And crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb!” Revelation 7:10
