The Very "First" Covenant

Between the evening of the 14th (Passover) and the evening of the 48th (first fruits) there are 49 days.  (33.898 x 49 = 1661 anti-type years) There were 1657 years from Adam to the Flood according to Biblical genealogies.  See Biblical Genealogies from  Adam to Exodus
Counting backward from 34 A.D. (Gospel to Gentiles) subtract 1661 to 1627 (Israelites depart Egypt) then add 857 (years of Patriarchs) to 2,484 B.C. end of flood and the covenant with the antediluvians.   Please note the following other possible flood dates:     Usher & English bible @ 2,348…. Hebrew Bible @ 2,288….Clinton @ 2,482….Playfair @ 2,352….Dr. Hales @ 3,155….Samaritan Pent. @ 2,998….Josephus @ 3,146….Septuagint @ 3,246

From the time Jesus died on the cross...apx 3:00-3:30pm to sunset and the beginning of the 15th of Nisan at 6:00pm = 2.5-3hrs; time to set up the spit and begin the roasting process before sunset and the Sabbath.  The roasting process takes roughly 5 hrs.  The children of Israel  then ate the goat/lamb in a hurry for there was much to do to get organized, get gifts from the Egyptians and loaded up.  There are 3 different sunset/twilight times: Civil, Nautical, and Astronomical. Example: in the month of April the end of the Astronomical twilight is apx 8:21 or so.  Thus between 3pm, Christ's death and 8 or so there are 5 hours. Time to roast the lamb/goat.

1661-1657=4years.  1 hour anti-type=1.41 years.  2.5 hours x 1.41yrs (anti-type hour)=3.52yrs and 3 hrs x 1.41 yrs = 4.23 years.  The Gospel went to the Gentiles in apx 34 AD.  3.5 years after the Cross.  Thus just like the "Very First Covenant" with the antediluvians @ 1657 years (Passover to Saviors death).  It fits exactly!  It points straight at the Cross!  Add the remaining hours from death to sunset=34 AD and the end of the day.  His timing is always perfect.  All 3 covenants are based on the same schedule of feasts; from Passover to Feast of Weeks/First Fruits.   Let us also keep in mind that the sun doesn't always set at the same time of day, it fluctuates with the seasons so if there is a slight variation in time it is still in keeping with the study.  Passover took place in the Spring, Feast of Weeks/First Fruits in the summer and Atonement in the Fall and each had different sunset times.

  • For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit; in which he went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly did not obey when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, during the building of the ark, in which a few that is, eight persons, were saved through water.  Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 3:18-21
  • Therefore as sin came into the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all men sinned—sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law.  Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sins were not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come. Romans 5:12-14
  • Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.  If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most to be pitied.  But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the First Fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 1 Corinthians 15:18-20 & Leviticus 23:15-17 (Both Wave Sheaf/First Fruits & First Fruits/Feast of Weeks/50th day)
  • The Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this cursed are you above all cattle, and above all wild animals; upon your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life.  I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” Genesis 3:14-15
  • But at Adam they transgressed the covenant; there they dealt faithlessly with me. Hosea 6:7
  • You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.  He was destined before the foundation of the world but was made manifest at the end of the times for your sake. 1 Peter 1:18-21
  • In the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried from off the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and behold, the face and the ground was dry. (Nisan 1)  In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.  Then God said to Noah, “Go forth from the ark… 20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.  And the Lord smelled the pleasing odor, …Genesis 8:13-20
